A night at the museum

On Thursday we commenced the Service Operation module, and it was a slight squeeze to get to the desired place by the end of the day, but it seemed to go reasonably well.

After the day's training (and sending the delegates off to revise and attempt practice questions) I headed for the Bavarian National Museum (as it's open late on a Thursday)...

The first section was a large collection of Christian
model displays. I loved this one, where the
shepherds are in full Bavarian style.

Some, like this one, were enormous
and impressive.

The lighting and suspended angel in this work well.

Epic

Wooden model of Munich. Several other
cities were also done.

Door reminds me of the gate to
Moria in the Lord of the Rings

This picture seemed not to be painted,
but created from different layers of
materials, which I thought really suited
the straight lines in the subject.

Some kind of planet forecasting device.
I wonder if Pluto's in there?

I think it's a model of Frauenkirche

Shiny! Now THAT'S a dinner service.

Not sure why these musical instruments
had to be quite so angular

Crazy skulls carved in ivory, or something similar

The mother of all wood carvings in this place.
This one also Munich

Looking over Mariahilfkirche towards
the Candy Shop location.
It's GoogleEarth, old-style!

Outside the museum; time to walk
back checking for more locations

Quirky exercise bike
