Parking in the Bay

Good morning again from Cardiff. Today is training day 2 of 3.

Pedal-powered organ in
Jolyon's bar/restaurant
- sadly no longer functional, else
I'd have tried a tune

At work things went well, though the team struggled a bit in the first two rounds, and didn't have someone owning the job of verifying all the components. They soon warmed up for rounds 3 and 4, and if round 1 and 2 always went well, they wouldn't need the course, would they?

On the Torchwood trail again,
I drove to Penarth Pier,
which had featured in a scene
with Toshiko and Tommy

Fabulous Tower nearby

Let's hope no-one disapiers.
Oh yes.

The wood flooring is surprisingly
slippy. Surprised me, anyway,
nearly went flying twice.

Looking back to the shore

End of the pier.

There's a lighthouse on one of those isles.
(One of them is Holm Island)
Trust me.

Lots of towers!

Goodbye, Penarth Pier

A mysterious lane beckons.

A hideous building doesn't.

Windsor Tea Rooms,
another Torchwood location.

Not Torchwood, but still quirktastic

Torchwood again!

Used as spooky cinema entrance,
in that episode where the film
characters somehow came alive.

The mystery tour continues.
As does the rain.

A bridge, but not too far

You've heard that Steps
are making a comeback, right?

A great film location if ever there was one
health and safety permitting

I come back to Cardiff Bay,
after checking tyres at CostCo.
2 'proper' tyres for £300,
or 4 reasonable tyres for £300?
I'll think on it over the weekend.

Meanwhile the parking situation gets on my nerves. There isn't a spot outside the hotel, which is to be expected, but the car park I used the first evening now isn't accepting cards, and strangely I don't have FIFTEEN pound coins on me, so I head to another carpark, which is only £5 per 24hours, but I only have £3.50 in coins. I head BACK to the hotel, parking illegally for 5 minutes, buying tomorrow's lunch to get more change. Then it's back to the 2nd car park and all is sorted.

Mexican beans at Las Iguana. Yum.

Lamb, spinach, beans, rice.
The ricey is spicey
but ever so nicey.

I walk back to the hotel to find...
an empty parking space
right outside the front door.

I know what will happen if I
walk off to get the car, and it
won't save anything now.

I'll sort that in the morning
when I leave.
