What's Up, Doc(klands)?

Another trip to London, this time for
a one-day revision/exam session

You can see Canary Wharf in the (slanted) background

Love this building, reminds
me of old computer parts

 More panorama-drama

Dr Crane, I presume?

Working here today

Dome from dome

That's where I'd park, too,
if I took a boat to work

I get out at London Bridge underground station
to see how the Shard's getting on

Zooming in, we can see
they're still working on it

Maximum zoom
Wonder where the visitor gallery will be?

Llama-drama-ding-dong

It's a lovely evening so we take a stroll down to Jo's farm again

Always a mixture of suspicion and curiosity

Cat gets their attention

 Nice line-up - what a pose!

Mother and daughter come to see us

Beyond cute

Beyond bonkers

Fabulous

When she was good,
she was very, very good,
and when she was bad...

she was ZOMBIE!

wheeeeeeee!

Shish!

Last time I was in Sheffield I heard about another Turkish place, but didn't have a chance to try, so when I was despatched to Nottingham for the fabled ISO20000 Practitioner course I went to pay a visit

The place does a mixture of Turkish and
Arabic fare - and that's just the coffee!

I tried the safaihs after consulting this review
Very tasty indeed

I was there quite early so it was fairly quiet

I didn't actually pay attention to the review when
it mentioned shisha pipes, and have never
inhaled anything stronger than air but
I'm always up for a new challenge
these days so I decided to
give one a try

Five minutes later I'm like Gandalf, trying to
produce smoke rings. To start with it was
just odd, then became pleasant and I got
a little giggly, but was still able to finish
the crossword and wordwheel in the
paper, and then I felt vaguely
queasy so stopped there
and had another coffee

I could have bought some of these in
Istanbul - mind you I bought too
much already, I think

I go to the hotel (accidentally getting close
to Derby rather than Nottingham) and next
morning find it's like an AA convention

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen via Henley

Time for another Movie Night

As we'd tried to see Salmon Fishing in the Yemen the other day, but ended up with the fabulous Headhunters, we went to Henley to complete the quest

On arrival we had plenty of time,
so opted for this Italian restaurant

Panorama time

 I choose the seafood risotto,
which is excellent

We have a little stroll in Henley, get a paper
and tackle the crossword before the film starts

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is great, and
we enjoyed it immensely, and already have
our sights set on Bonsai and another
quirky film or two

Flying visit

After Telford I have a meeting in London
Sadly the meeting is cancelled 5 minutes
after I've boarded the train from
Bazinga-stoke so I meet with a
new colleague instead

We pop into this hotel for a coffee and
what turns out to be a rather good chat

Never one to waste an opportunity,
I snap an icon with the zoom lens

It's the London look

Been there ...

and done that :)

Then it's back on the train in time
for a surprise lunch date - marvellous

Room with a Phew

Spring has sprung and it's time for a sort-out.

Today it's Tom's room (as he's out all day at a Robot competition)

Some serious attention is required

To start with, it's hard to know what's
safe to touch, never mind safe to remove

That's all safe - it's just horrible

The window sill is a prime candidate

Bazinga - a space is cleared,
and long-lost tools emerge

I can see clearly, now, the floor stuff's gone

Definitely getting there

After an intense effort, but actually
much shorter than expected,
it's 99% better

Hurrah!!
